A/C & Heating Repair and Maintenance

Most vehicle a/c and heating systems break with usage over time. Hoses that feed the a/c unit may crack, clog, or drip if not serviced. Don't forget about the other components that help keep your a/c and heat running as well!

If your vehicle's air conditioning system is not keeping you cool don't let the hot weather make you miserable. Bring your vehicle to Major muffler & auto repair and let us help you get back to craving in comfort. If you're not sure if your vehicle needs to be serviced? Here's six signs you should bring it by:

  • the air conditioning blows only slightly cooler than the outside air
  • the air conditioner blows air that smells damp, musty, or like mildew and mold
  • your air conditioner only works while driving
  • you have low air flow even at the highest fan setting
  • water condensing or dripping on your foot while driving
  • the defroster takes longer than normal to operate, or does not operate

Don't wait! If your a/c is working at a reduced efficiency, it's worth a visit to have it looked at. Sometimes it's as simple and cost effective as adding new coolant. Taking care of regular maintenance now can help you avoid more expensive a/c repair costs down the road.

Hoses
Hoses transfer coolant and antifreeze throughout the engine entire cooling system. Overtime hoses will dry out and crack, needing a replacement. You can trust our team to replace any needed hoses with quality parts and get it done right the first time.

Belts
A fan belt, also referred to as the drive belt, connects your vehicle's engine to the front mounted accessories. The fan belt rotates the water pump and the engine fan, which maintains a cool environment for the engine and its components. Over time, your vehicle's fan belt will dry out and crack. When it's time, you can rely on us to do the job right and get you back on the road.

Radiators
Radiators are heat exchangers for cooling your vehicle's internal combustion engine. A radiator cools the engine by circulating the coolant through the engine block and then loses the heat to the atmosphere through radiation. All radiators have a set of tubes that allow the coolant to flow through the fins surrounding the tubes and into the engine. When a radiator fails, the excess heat produced by the engine could cause damage to the surrounding components, leading to more serious repairs. To help prevent this from happening, have your radiator serviced regularly.

What People Say About Us

Absolutely outstanding Customer Service. I had a little bit of a lengthy weight. But only because there was an older gentleman who needed more help. But once I was dressed, they got me in and out within 10 minutes.. Their pricing is considerable and super thoughtful. What I mean is you can tell they are not greedy and they’re more tending to helping, which is very rare to find.

Wow this shop is old school the owner and staff are awesome they cut out my muffler and resonators from the cat back and straight pipe it on a 2005 jeep grand Cherokee 5.7 hemi and it sounds vicious. Thank guys you rock. PS great price and clean work.

They did an excellent job on my 97 dodge diesel. Put a muffler in and found and fixed some noises in the exhaust that I had. Great communication and the work looks fantastic. They even went above and beyond and painted part of the exposed pipe so it wouldn't be an eye sore. I really appreciate the attention to detail. Thanks again! And for staying late so I could pick the truck up!

Great experience at Major Muffler! James was a huge blessing as we stopped in unexpectedly in Redding and he took a look and a listen and told us the problem and what we needed to get back on the road. So kind, quick, and helpful. When other shops told us they didn't have time, he took the time to help us out. Thank you James!!
